About Me

Hi, I'm Boston. I'm originally from Denver, Colorado. I'm currently a student at Southern Virginia University studying Computer Science with a focus on becoming part of the next generation of problem solvers.

Southern Virginia University IT Department
Spring 2018 - Present
Software Engineering Intern - Team Lead
As part of the development team in the IT department of SVU, I worked with others to create solutions to common campus technology problems through Agile software development. The bulk of our work was integrating new technologies such as Harvest and PaperCut to legacy services through brokers such as RabbitMQ using .NET Core. The skills to accomplish these tasks were developed by self-learning and PluralSight courses. After about 7 months, our team of two quickly grew into six taking on multiple projects at a time. I now currently serve as the Team Lead, training a team of new developers into using agile methodologies, software engineering design patterns, and writing production quality code.

Ghana Accra West Mission
November 2014 - 2016
In Ghana, I spent two years providing service and help to anyone who would accept it. As part of my volunteer work, I served in many leadership capacities over up to 25 other volunteers in order to encourage, improve, and train other volunteers to do their best.
